Inverter design is one of the outstanding issues in the field of power electronics. One of the most important studies in inverter design has been the multi-level topology. used in many designs because of its working ability in high power and high efficiency alternative energy sources.

There the environment often dictates how device should be cooled and forces engineers to make design choices they might ordinarily avoid.

In electric vehicles, the drive system generally consists of electric motor, inverter, battery and charger. For the electric drive to propel the vehicle, the motor must be fed with an alternating current, which is supplied by the inverter. The inverter converts the direct current from the battery to an alternating current.

Most portable electronic devices are developed for high efficiency, low power consumption and reliability. This requires that their batteries offer a long life and high efficiency, too.
