Analog Devices is now offering its Automotive Audio Bus (A²B) version 2.0 to OEMs and Tier 1 companies.
A²B has been around for ten years, providing road-noise cancellation and in‑car communications. Its strength is the single main, multiple sub‑nodes daisy‑chain architecture that reduces wiring complexity and costs – meeting the crucial considerations in the automotive sector.
A²B 2.0 expands on that offering with higher bandwidth (up to 98.3Mbps, full duplex) and Ethernet compatibility. Among its other key capabilities are support for up to 119 upstream and 119 downstream audio channels, low and deterministic latency (62μs) and an a straightforward integration. It is also backward compatible with existing A²B 1.0 cabling and connector infrastructure. Additionally, the ADAA245x devices can easily branch to A2B 1.0 networks, maximising re-use of existing modules.
