Southern Manufacturing & Electronics 2017: The world of electronics in one event

News

Southern Manufacturing and Electronics 2017 returns to FIVE, Farnborough, from March 21st to 23rd. The 18,000m² purpose-built venue alongside Farnborough Airport in Hampshire is almost completely sold out.

A total of around 800 firms from around the world are expected to participate, between them offering an amazing variety of components, industrial equipment and services, from the latest automated production and test systems to contract electronics manufacture.

The show occupies an area greater than five halls of the NEC combined, and caters for pretty much every branch of manufacturing and engineering. With a comprehensive selection of vendors covering both production hardware such as machinery and tooling, and components, it offers an outstanding opportunity to solve multiple sourcing issues in a single visit.

As the largest and longest-running electronics show in the UK, Southern attracts strong support from both major component vendors and production equipment manufacturers. Components and OEM parts showcased at Southern 2017 include discrete, EMC and electromechanical components, HMIs, connectors, sensors, custom wound components, wiring assemblies and many hundreds more. There’s also production hardware, from the latest 3D Printers to high-tech automated pick-and-place machines. Factory equipment includes machine safety, stock control, labelling and marking, handling equipment and storage. There’s CAD/CAM and production management software, anti-static flooring and furniture, industrial heating and ventilation, cleaning systems, industrial furniture and consumables.

The event is also one of the key marketplaces for electronics and engineering subcontract services in Europe, offering a similarly wide selection of service providers from sheet metal and custom enclosures to PCB production and electronics assembly, together with specialist suppliers such as electroplating, coatings, design & test services and heat treatments amongst many others.

With so much to see, planning a visit is essential. Fortunately, a searchable database of products, services and exhibitors is available online at www.industrysouth.co.uk Pre-registered visitors get a comprehensive free show guide on arrival, and those registering early enough will also receive a free copy of the show’s official preview magazine profiling over 100 exhibitors, plus details of the show’s incredible free technical seminar programme.
