Schurter is certified according to Energy Management System ISO 50001

News

The SCHURTER GmbH in Endingen has been certified according to ISO 50001, an internationally recognized energy management system (EMS).

With consistent energy management, unused energy efficiency potentials can be identified and actions can be implemented.

Thus, with the certification in 2012 several projects have already been implemented which contributed significantly to energy savings. A major initiative was the installation of a photovoltaic system with 1914 modules and a power of 472 kWp (this is equivalent to a consumption of one hundred 4-person households or 25% of the energy consumption).

Additional energy savings could be achieved by investing in the building renovation (roof restoration), with the reduction of the cooling in the flat bed machines in production as well as the exchange of an energy-efficient fan motor in the silk-screen printing with a saving of ~ 70’000 kWh/year and a reduction of ~ 46 tons of CO2.

By introducing the new energy management system according to ISO 50001 and its related measures, SCHURTER can reduce its energy consumption and energy costs in the long term and make a significant contribution to environmental and climate protection, for example by the permanent reduction of CO2 emissions.
