Phlux Technology is offering beta samples of its Apex 200µm Noiseless InGaAs APD receiver modules now

News

Sheffield-based Phlux Technology, a manufacturer of avalanche photodiode (APD) infrared (IR) sensors, is offering beta samples of the Apex 200µm receiver module for evaluation. The PX02200-TO is part of Phlux’s Apex receivers that combine its Noiseless InGaAs Aura APD detectors with low-noise, optimised pre-amplifier circuits, offered in a standard TO-8, 12-pin header package.

Phlux is providing the PX02200-TO Apex 200µm beta samples to lead customers to evaluate ahead of volume production later this year. Only a limited quantity are available.

The Apex receiver modules support high bandwidth, small signal acquisition for demanding applications. They operate in the range of 900-1700nm wavelength and are optimised for 1550nm detection, with responsivity of 600kV/W. They have been designed to maintain stable performance across wide environmental operating conditions, and feature an integrated temperature sense diode for temperature compensation of the high-voltage supply, supporting consistent responsivity in precision applications.

The Apex 200µm receiver module features noise equivalent power (NEP) of 35fW/√Hz whilst maintaining a bandwidth of 100MHz. An Apex 80µm variant provides an NEP of 47fW/√Hz at a bandwidth of over 200MHz, a performance improvement 5x greater than current commercially available products. The Apex 30µm integrated receiver promises even further reductions in NEP, offering the potential for linear photon counting applications and quantum sensing.
