Speedboard appoints two new Directors

News

New Directors – New Structure

A newly appointed Operations Director and an internally promoted Supply Chain Director, along with other organisational changes, form part of Speedboard’s ‘CEM partner-of-choice’ mission for 2016 and beyond.

Windsor, United Kingdom – Contract Electronics Manufacturer (CEM) Speedboard Assembly Services has appointed Martin Bullimore as its Operations Director. Bullimore has an electro-mechanical background and 30 years of manufacturing experience, having worked for a number of market-leading OEMs, including Nokia, Stannah and Alexander Dennis. In his new role, Bullimore will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Speedboard’s production and engineering activities as well as overseeing all final assembly and test activities.

Speedboard has also promoted Karen Heath from Commercial Manager to Supply Chain Director. Prior to joining Speedboard in September 2007, Heath held positions with Delta Impact and Macro (which subsequently become part of Avnet). In her new role, Heath’s responsibilities will include managing supplier quality, supply strategies, the timeliness of deliveries, purchasing and stores.

The appointments increase Speedboard’s team of Directors to five and come amidst other organisational changes. These include the formation of dedicated, multi-disciplined customer support teams, each of which has a Senior Account Manager, an Account Manager, a Production Engineer and a Buyer. Each team is responsible for supporting a number of customers, and the allocation of customers to a team is based on a variety of factors such as product complexity, assembly complexity and whether or not box-build (final assembly) is required.

Speedboard’s Sales & Marketing Director, Nick Fairhead, comments: “Our engagements with customers are becoming increasingly ‘collaborative’, as opposed to ‘transactional’, as we believe it is the best way to meet our customers’ current and future manufacturing requirements. Indeed, in all industry sectors, competition is fierce and it is only through collaboration and forming a better understanding of each customer’s objectives that a CEM can add true value. With the formation of our dedicated customer support teams, and with Martin and Karen joining as Directors, Speedboard is stronger than ever and is set to change the world of contract electronics manufacturing.”
