Harwin appoints David Rumball to spearhead design-in activities with OEM customers

Leverages Harwin’s ‘can do’ attitude 

Portsmouth, UK, July 2014… Harwin, the leading hi-rel connector and SMT board hardware manufacturer, has announced the appointment of David Rumball as European OEM Sales Manager. In this new role, Rumball, who can call upon nearly 20 years’ experience in the electronic connector industry, will focus on developing strong relationships with end customers, pursuing and supporting design-in activity with OEMs.

“Our approach is to focus on the technology companies and to help them understand how our new products such as our Gecko 1.25mm pitch hi-rel connector family or our EZ-Boardware PCB hardware range comprising products that address EMC, test and cable management can enhance their new product designs. It may be that the OEM customer’s supply chain strategy dictates that they are serviced by our network of distributors, but it is critical that they are provided with direct support from Harwin – the manufacturer at the development stage.”

An engineer by training, Rumball has a detailed understanding of Europe’s hi-rel markets gained at senior positions with Amphenol. “Everyone at Harwin has a ‘can do’ attitude”, he adds, “which is essential to serve and support key growth markets and exciting, innovative companies”.
