First back-biased GMR transmission speed and direction sensor to operate at 50% larger air gaps

Products

Allegro MicroSystems has released ATS19580, the industry’s first fully-integrated, backbiased giant magneto-resistive (GMR) transmission speed and direction sensor. Achieving the highest level of in-system performance, the ATS19580 reduces system size, complexity and cost – resulting in improved fuel economy in automotive applications.

Combining GMR technology with Allegro’s leading transmission algorithms and packaging, the ATS19580 offers the highest performing transmission sensor to date, including widest dynamic range of operating air gap (50% larger), industry-leading vibration immunity, EMC protection and robustness to common-mode stray fields.

The device’s installation flexibility is key in the automotive industry; its monolithic integration also allows for ease of design-in with IC, magnet and protection components in a single, overmolded package. The back-biased IC is provided in a 3-pin SIP package (suffix SN) that is lead-free, with tin leadframe plating.
