CP1000 is the new AC/DC current probe from Teledyne LeCroy, which combines 1000A continuous current capability with 1.5MHz bandwidth for modern high-power electronics. It has been specifically designed for precise measurement of high currents in applications like traction inverters, motor drives, fast charging stations, energy storage systems and industrial power electronics. With measurement capability to 1000A RMS from DC-1.5MHz and 1400A peak current, the CP1000 fills a gap between traditional high-current transformers and high-bandwidth laboratory current probes.

This probe enables developers to analyse total current, fast switching events, current spikes and high-frequency harmonics with great accuracy. Such a capability is particularly important for SiC- and GaN-based power circuits, and for efficiency and power-loss measurements.

The CP1000 features a 33mm core opening, enabling measurements on large conductors and busbars without interrupting the circuit. A six-meter cable adds extra flexibility as well as safety when testing high-voltage and high-current systems.

The probe integrates Teledyne LeCroy’s ProBus interface, and features functions to control auto-zero and Degauss directly from the oscilloscope for faster test setup and improved measurement accuracy.
