Comprion extends its eSIM Tracer to support MediaTek chipsets

Comprion has expanded the capabilities of its eSIM Tracer solution by adding support for MediaTek chipsets. With the new adapter, developers, device manufacturers and mobile network operators can analyze communication between the cellular modem and embedded eSIMs or iSIMs across an even broader range of devices.

The new adapter complements the existing Qualcomm and Samsung Exynos adapters, further extending device coverage and enabling analysis across a wider range of today’s mobile devices. These include devices powered by selected MediaTek Dimensity series, which are used in various smartphones from manufacturers such as Motorola, Oppo and vivo.

With the new MediaTek adapter, we are significantly expanding the reach of the eSIM Tracer and providing our customers with even greater flexibility when analyzing eSIM and iSIM communication,” said Olaf Rethmeier, Product Manager eSIM Test Solutions at Comprion.

The eSIM Tracer is a software solution designed to capture and analyze communication between the cellular modem and embedded eSIMs or iSIMs. Because these secure elements are soldered directly onto the device’s circuit board, the traditional physical SIM interface is no longer available for diagnostic and analysis purposes. As a result, identifying the root causes of integration or interoperability issues can be significantly more challenging.

Comprion’s eSIM Tracer closes this gap. The solution combines powerful monitoring software with chipset-specific APDU tracing adapters, enabling real-time capture of communication between the cellular modem and the eSIM. Captured data is presented in a structured, easy-to-analyze format and enhanced with context-sensitive protocol decoding, allowing engineers to quickly understand and investigate complex technical processes.
