Yokogawa Test & Measurement introduces a high-precision power analyzer, WT1500

Products

Yokogawa Test & Measurement releases its new high-precision power analyzer, WT1500, a compact, high-accuracy instrument that extends WT series coverage into high-voltage xEV and renewable energy applications.

The WT1500 addresses a growing need for high-voltage, multi-functional measurement within many sectors, including in semiconductor and battery applications.

At 2000 VDC, the instrument delivers the highest rated input voltage of the Yokogawa WT series, with four measurement channels fitting within a 2U, 19-inch chassis, ideal for the rack-mount and PC controlled test environments typically found in these industries. Resolver signal input support enables customers to conduct motor evaluation tests without needing additional equipment, while new multi-unit synchronization capabilities, due to be released soon will allow up to 5 units to connect, for a maximum of 20 power channels.

The WT1500’s total power accuracy is ±0.038% (DC, 50/60Hz) and it’s low-power-factor accuracy is ±0.07% of S at 50/60Hz. It supports two types of input elements, High Voltage (HV) and Wide Bandwidth (WB), for direct measurement to 2000VDC and 300kHz and 1000V with a 2MHz bandwidth, respectively. Thus, it measures complex, high-frequency waveforms generated in modern applications like xEV motors. Both inputs share a common sensor input and can be mixed in a single unit.

For added measurements, channels can be scaled up to 20, by connecting five WT1500 units that are then synchronised. One unit acts as the main controller, directing subunit configuration and consolidating data acquisition.
