Optical connectivity solutions provider, ProLabs, will be SCTE TechExpo 2026 in Atlanta, the US, highlighting new technology designed to help cable and network operators expand bandwidth, reduce deployment costs, and simplify infrastructure upgrades – all while leveraging their existing fiber networks.
At the show it plans to feature three new product lines addressing key challenges operators face as they scale bandwidth to meet growing demand:
Extended-Range Bi-Directional Transceivers – A new range of bi-directional (BiDi) transceivers supporting up to 80 kilometers of reach over a single fiber, available in 25G and 100G QSFP28 form factors. The extended reach enables true drop-in upgrades from 10G to 100G, allowing operators to increase bandwidth on existing fiber infrastructure without costly new fiber builds.
Tunable DWDM Solutions – ProLabs’ tunable DWDM portfolio now includes an extended-reach 25G solution supporting 40 kilometers, along with a 1G narrowband tunable option. The 40km 25G tunable pushes 25G DWDM services well beyond the typical 15km dispersion limit, giving operators the reach needed to extend bandwidth to distributed access architecture (DAA) nodes.
Single-Port 800G QSFP-DD Solutions – For the network core, ProLabs is introducing 800G QSFP-DD FR4 and LR4 transceivers with a single-port, duplex LC 800G hand-off, simplifying core network upgrades and reducing the fiber and port count typically required for high-density core deployments.
“Operators are under constant pressure to deliver more bandwidth without the time and expense of overbuilding fiber,” said Ray Hagen, Vice President, Product Line Management at ProLabs. “These new transceivers are all about protecting the investment our customers have already made in their fiber networks – whether that means a drop-in upgrade from 10G to 100G, pushing 25G DWDM further out to DAA nodes, or simplifying a core upgrade to 800G. ProLabs will be demonstrating these solutions at booth H1442 during SCTE TechExpo 2026, taking place September 29 – October 1 in Atlanta, Georgia. Attendees can meet with ProLabs’ engineering and product teams to discuss deployment scenarios and request samples.
