Intelliconnect sets up CryoCoax – a new division specialising in connectivity for specialist systems

News

Intelliconnect (Europe) has launched a new division called CryoCoax that designs and manufactures cryogenic interconnect products. Its cabling and connectors are suitable for many applications and industries, including test, measurement and instrumentation, medical and materials research, space and quantum computing, and cryogenic systems such as dilution refrigerators, superconducting magnet systems and low-temperature and infrared detectors.

“As a dedicated division of the Intelliconnect group, CryoCoax has the security of a long established and very successful connector manufacturer at its heart, and is going from strength to strength, providing cryogenic solutions to some of the biggest tech companies in the world,” said Roy Phillips, Managing Director of CryoCoax.

The CryoCoax range of connectors offers sturdy stainless-steel interconnects including SMA (sub-miniature version A), SMP (sub-miniature push-on), custom-designed solutions and all common connector interfaces. Cables and cable assemblies to 40GHz are crafted from finest materials with advanced manufacturing techniques.

CryoCoax’s IP68 and glass-sealed hermetic adapters and attenuators, from 0-30dB, are configured to withstand the lowest temperatures of below 2K (-271.15°C). The product portfolio also includes niobium-titanium cable assemblies to 40GHz, cupro nickel cables, raw St/St and NbTi cable, non-magnetic cables, crimp solderless and 2.9mm connectors and adapters, sealed adapters and low-temperature hardware.

Extended market reach

CryoCoax is a member of the British Cryogenics Council (BCC) and the Cryogenic Society of America, allowing it to extend its market reach across many industries, and to participate in the rapid development of this growing field. The BCC currently has over 100 members, providing a broad spectrum of expertise, from companies offering cryogenic products and services to universities undertaking low-temperature research and to end users of cryogens and cryogenic systems.

“Our expert team of designers and engineers will work alongside customers from start to finish of a project to ensure the best possible solution is delivered. Our decades-long experience in the interconnect industry affords us an outstanding record for providing defect-free, high-quality cryogenic products,” said Phillips.

In addition to the new CryoCoax product range, Intelliconnect (Europe)manufactures custom cable assemblies, a wide range of standard and custom RF connectors and components, including waterproof and fast-turnaround custom designs undertaken without NRE charges to its customers. Intelliconnect’s large range of coaxial adaptors for inter-series connection and gender change are ideal for applications such as MIL and aerospace, marine, oil and gas, medical and general microwave markets.

Intelliconnect (Europe)was formed in 2003, following a shrinking RF connector manufacturing industry in the UK. In 2004, the company joined forces with a small US operation to quickly establish itself a leader in design-led manufacturing of RF connectors, waterproof multi-pin connectors and cable assemblies. Both the UK and US divisions of Intelliconnect are now well-known for high-quality products and first-class service. These divisions’ range of triaxial components are world-recognised for their quality, and their custom design service is deemed one of the quickest available in the connector industry today.
