akYtec introduces ITP15-M and ITP17 panel meters for shipboard control

Products

German firm akYtec introduces its panel meters ITP15-M and ITP17 for process control information to be easily displayed for rapid visual status assessment. This is easily viewed with a backlit scale or numerically accurate display with colour-coded status indicators. The panels can be used by various sectors, not least the maritime one for shipboard control, such as monitoring of operating parameters of onboard machinery and technical processes.

On board a ship, the crew must be able to identify the status of technical equipment within a short period of time without having to understand complex interpretation processes or operating structures. Misinterpretation of displays can potentially lead to safety-related incidents such as equipment overload, thermal malfunctions, water ingress, or restrictions on manoeuvrability.

This is where akYtec’s panel meters come in handy with their easy-to-understand and clearly visible displays. Integrated into a control panel, they help the crew to quickly grasp status parameters and reduce operating errors. Critical values and system statuses can also be quickly distinguished thanks to the color coding of the display in green, yellow, and red.

The ITP17 universal display device and the ITP15-M bar display device are ideal for local display and simple limit-based switching in control panels for temperature, level, pressure, humidity, and similar process signals. Typical applications can be found wherever a compact control panel display with configurable thresholds is sufficient. In marine control applications, for example, they can be used for monitoring ballast water control, cooling and ventilation systems, power supply and propulsion systems, or ship boilers and steam systems.

Both devices fit into a standard recess of Ø 22.5 mm (e.g., push buttonholes) and have a front size of 48 × 26 mm (total size approx. 48 × 26 × 72 mm). The front complies with IP65, the rear with IP20. Operating temperature is –40 to +60 °C. Configuration is via micro-USB using the free akYtec Tool Pro software.
