Frequency control specialist, Euroquartz has launched a new range of ultra-miniature surface mount temperature compensated crystal oscillators (TCXOs) for use in portable electronics applications.

The new EM22S series TCXOs are packaged in an ultra-miniature SMD package measuring just 2.5 x 2.0 x 0.8mm and offer temperature stability from ±0.5ppm over -20 to +70°C. Available with supply voltage variants for 1.8, 2.5 or 3.0V applications, these miniature, lightweight and compact components are ideal for use in portable devices such as GPS and handsets.

Offering frequencies from 13 to 52MHz, specifications include clipped sine output wave form, initial calibration tolerance of ±2ppm maximum (25°C 1 hour after reflow), output voltage level (peak-to-peak) of 0.8V minimum to 2.0V maximum (load 10kΩ/10pF ±10%), current consumption of 2mA maximum for frequencies up to 26MHz and 2.5mA maximum for frequencies above 26MHz. Start-up time is 2ms maximum.

Euroquartz’s new EM22S ultra-miniature SMD TCXOs are available on 8.0mm tape, 4mm pitch 180mm reels in quantities of 1000 and 3000 pieces.
