SL Power announces 220W desktop unit for medical applications
SL Power Electronics announces the latest addition to its Ault family of AC/DC external power
supplies for medical systems applications. The MENT 1220 series comprises single output, desktop-style power supplies with an output range of up to 220W which, the company claims, is the highest power output of any standard external power supply currently available. This increase in power will allow whole segments of the electronics industry previously unable to use external power, to now dramatically reduce the size of their equipment by removing the power supply. The new family complies with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Energy Star Level IV and meets all relevant safety and EMC standards including EN60601-1-2. Ault MENT 1220 units are available in three regulated voltage outputs - 24, 32 and 48V.
"Our Ault brand has been part of the Environmental Protection Agency's Energy Star program for more than three years." Says Nigel Davies, SL Power's European Managing Director. "We have also been involved with the California Energy Commission (CEC) and other global agencies focused on environmental issues. In the US, EPA's Energy Star Level IV is key to the next phase in energy efficiency and we want our customers to know that our power solutions meet the highest standards."
Measuring 8.0 x 4.2 x 1.8in, (203x107x46mm), the MENT1220 Series units are protected against over voltage, over current and overheating as well as short circuit. Leakage current is < 300uA and the efficiency for all models is close to 90%.
All models feature a universal input of 100 to 240Vac and are packaged in a non-vented (IPX1rated), impact-resistant, polycarbonate enclosure with a ribbed surface to improve cooling.
SL Power offer customisation on all external power supplies which allow customers to precisely specify their needs with such features as own company labels, case colour and output voltage and connectors.
