New OPTEK DVD Highlights Solutions To The Complexities of VLED Thermal Management
Providing solid state lighting design engineers with a complete technical reference on LED construction, performance and thermal management, TT electronics OPTEK Technology has developed a DVD that presents detailed information about visible LED technology. The DVD examines the complex issues of LED construction and device physics, as well as OPTEK's thermal management solutions for optimizing visible LED efficiency, color consistency and longevity.
"With visible LEDs replacing incandescent and fluorescent sources in more and more lighting applications, LED design considerations, specifically thermal management issues, have become a major issue in the solid state lighting community," said Alan Bennett, vice president of sales and marketing for OPTEK Technology. "Our new DVD provides these lighting design engineers with a comprehensive technical resource on the basics of LED construction, thermal management and performance."
Another resource available to the lighting engineer described in the DVD is OPTEK's VLED laboratory, Bennett continued. OPTEK provides an array of equipment and expertise to accurately assess traditional lighting designs and proposed solid state equivalents.
Typical applications for OPTEK's visible LED product line include commercial and institutional lighting as well as backlighting of displays, indication, channel lighting, interior and exterior automotive lighting and general illumination applications.
