environCom Announces New 10 Acre WEEE Processing Facility
Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) processor, environCom, has announced plans for a new 10 acre site on the outskirts of Grantham in the UK.
environCom's new WEEE facility will be the largest and most advanced in Europe, comprising of the latest state of the art processing equipment aimed at achieving WEEE Recycling, Recovery & Reuse, catering for all types of WEEE. This approach will deliver the high levels of performance that is expected by Producer's tasked with meeting Individual Producer Responsibility.

The site located just off the A1 at Grantham, officially become an environCom facility on 15th September 2008 when the company took over the lease. It has involved an investment of around £10 million in state-of-the-art equipment, including the MeWa QZ2500 fridge processing plant, a separate WEEE processing plant for all SDA and LDA, two new CRT processing plants incorporating glass cleaning, as well as an IT Recovery process and full re-use capability, all of which meet the highest safety and performance standards. It is anticipated to create around 150 jobs for people in the local area, meaning that environCom will become one of the town's largest employers.
The new facility in Grantham will start processing product in October 2008.
