ClarityCap Introduces MR Range

Following a two year research programme into the influence an audio capacitor has on overall system sound quality, specialist audio capacitor manufacturer, ClarityCap has introduced its MR range.

Says Dave Parkinson, Sales Manager, ClarityCap: "The research programme was conducted in cooperation with the world renowned Acoustics Research Centre at the University of Salford.

"The research encompassed all of the materials used in audio capacitors and any existing performance data together with analysis of manufacturing processes and techniques. The crucial factor to emerge was the effect that mechanical resonances within a capacitor have on sound quality and the importance of reducing or controlling a capacitor's sonic output.

"We believe that our new MR range offers unsurpassed levels of performance and control to loudspeaker manufacturers."

The MR range of capacitors has capacitance values from 0.82µF to 27µF and a rated voltage of 630Vdc. It is manufactured from metallised polypropylene film housed in a coloured acrylic tube which is then encapsulated in epoxy resin to assist even more in controlling the device's overall sonic performance.

A second new capacitor to come out of the research programme is the ESA range. It is designed to offer a mid way house between ClarityCap's highly regarded SA range and the new MR range.

The ESA range has capacitance values from 100nF to 33µF and a rated voltage of 630Vdc. Also manufactured from metallised polypropylene film, this component is supplied in the familiar wrap and end seal style; wrapped in a polyester tape with the ends only encapsulated in epoxy resin.

Dave Parkinson concluded: "With these two new ranges and the crucial data that our research has given us, we believe that we now offer the market an unequalled product range built using quantifiable data."
