TV principal printed circuit boards can currently only be tested when fully connected to a TV chassis. But with a new tool called TV Diagnostika such boards can be tested, repaired and checked separately and independently, away from the TV set – saving space, time and money.
TV Diagnostika reduces board-level fault finding by up to 95% and allows engineers to test and repair TV boards away from the TV receiver. It is equally effective for conventional LCD televisions as well as LED-lit receivers.
“It is a new approach to TV fault finding” said TV Diagnostika's designer Fawzi Ibrahim. “It allows a field engineer to identify a faulty board at customers’ homes literally within seconds and liberates workshop engineers from the confines of the TV metal frame.”
TV Diagnostika is 'green' – it is a passive tool requiring no additional power source or connection to a computer. Repairs become more viable, so more boards are repaired and recycled and fewer boards are discarded.
Nine out of ten engineers on a one-day training course at the College of North West London rated Diagnostika useful to very useful.
“Engineers are often faced with the dilemma of whether the Power Supply or Main Board is faulty. The Diagnostika takes any guesswork out of this confirming which board is faulty. I think it is an invaluable tool for the modern workshop repairing LCD Televisions," said Malcolm Russell, Senior Engineer at R & M Technical, who tested Diagnostika.
