Rapid Electronics has enlarged its instrument enclosure range with the 1590 ‘stomp’ series of die-cast aluminium boxes, as well as introducing two other new ranges of high quality enclosures from Hammond Manufacturing.
The Hammond 1590 die-cast aluminium enclosures are designed to be the housings of choice for stomp box or guitar effects pedal manufacturers. The 1590 is a rugged, easy to machine die-cast aluminium enclosure able to cope with the demanding on-stage environment in which they will be used. Available in two sizes, 112 x 60 x 27mm and 119 x 94 x 34mm, they are finished in a smooth gloss polyester powder paint, which does not chip after machining and provides a good surface for labels and silk screening. A lap joint seals the units to IP54, and the painted finish is only applied to the external surfaces, maintaining RFI integrity. The boxes are available in strong and vibrant colours: Cobalt Blue, Green, Light Grey, Orange and Red.
Also available are the Hammond 1550Z and 1555 series. The 1550Z series of IP66 aluminium die-cast sealed boxes are designed for use in applications where impact protection and environmental sealing are primary requirements. The 18 industry-standard sizes range from 50 x 45 x 30mm to 223 x 147 x 83mm, supplied in either a natural smooth vibra-finish or a tough black polyester powder coated finish.
The 1555 series are watertight ABS or polycarbonate enclosures suitable for a wide range of applications. Available in RAL 7035 grey and sizes from 120mm x 66mm x 42mm to 159mm x 91mm x 62mm, the 1555 series feature flanged lids, making mounting easier and offering full IP67 protection against dust and water.
Up to +100 price breaks are available across these Hammond ranges and discounts possible on bulk orders. Technical specifications and datasheets for individual products are available on the Rapid website.
