On First of February the US Secretary of Education and the Chairman of the FCC announced the above 5 year transition program to a digital media education platform delivered through mobile and broadband. This sets out a roadmap for educators to accelerate the transition to digital textbooks and other educational media.
Recently there has been much UK minister speculation about the benefits such a change can bring as well as the issue of telemedicine which I have raised. However, does any one seriously believe that the Chairwoman of OFCOM and the Secretary of Education could announce such an initiative? For those interested it is educational to see who the contributors to this program are.
Whereas once again the US leads the UK has to play catch-up as the premise behind such an initiative is that there is in place the broadband infrastructure to support it. However there are hopeful signs that the UK broadband infrastructure is making headway this year.
